The first ugly fall and other events.

Today Olivia had her first big fall and has the scars to prove it.  I am sure it is the first of many to come, but I would personally put a permanent helmet on her until she knows how to walk! It is aweful!!!!! I hate it!  But, it is nothing, just a scratch and up again!  She was very good and recovered fairly quickly after we played some Shaun the Sheep.
The rest of our days have been quite lovely.  I love being back to school.  I love even better to come back home and find Olivia giving me her biggest smile and then cuddling with me for a long while because she has missed me.  That is my favourite part of the day!  I live for these moments.
Spring is officially here.  And April is quickly showing it's nose.  Last night it snowed, but today it was sunny and bright and crisp, perfect for walks in the sunny chilly weather.  We have had our first bicycle rides and we have already grilled once!  Next week will be Easter and people usually go to the mountains to ski but we're staying in Bergen to begin to pack and clean and I can also advance with my project while Jonas is with Olivia and we are very happy to stay here and enjoy our apartment a bit longer before we sell it.  Anyways, here are some of the pictures of the last few days.  Happy Easter!

happy days together in the apartment, crawling around the floor
with pappa, first real day of spring sitting in the terrace taking in the sun

first bike ride, bad helmet situation (we need a proper/right size helmet by the way)

hmmmm, skeptic.

11 months.

Olivia is 11 months today.  She is so big and so active and so lovely all at once.  She is unstoppable too, and stubborn and determined!  She has developed a big interest in Rafa, and everything that surrounds Rafa is THE BEST.  She wants to share all her toys and food with him, which confuses him (the poor thing) because he doesn't have permission to take her toys or her food, but she keeps offering!!  So, this doggy is getting a bit stressed but I see their friendship is growing.

This past month we have noticed how much and how fast she has grown.  She is so communicative and understands so much more than we think.  She wants to be involved, decide for herself (like "no, right now I actually want this toy, not that one").

Anyways, it's a handful, she wears us out (all three of us, because poor Rafa also suffers from the bouncy child, sometimes he even hides in his little house to get some sleep during the day) and it's a lot of fun.

Olivia is the most amazing, beautiful, sweet, funny, smart little thing and we are more in love with her every day and every second that passes.

Ps: oh, and she has stinky feet!!!! hahahaha
Pss: she can say "Hola!" and "Nei! (which means No!, shaking her hed at the same time)
Psss: She dances and claps and likes Shaun the sheep!

Cousins

Olivia is one lucky girl!  This weekend Iben, her little cousin came to visit.  Iben is only seven months younger than Olivia and she lives in Oslo with her parents Nicca (the BEST sister in law in the entire world/universe) and Olav who isn't too far behind.  We don't see each other that often but when we do, we try to enjoy every minute of it.  Even more so now that Iben and Olivia are here with us.  We want them to be together as much as they can.
Having cousins that are around your age brings so much joy.  I grew up with two cousins: Estefanía and María José.  María is a bit older than us, which doesn't really count now, but growing up, she was a bit more mature and new so much more!  Estefanía and I only have a three month difference (yes, Estefanía, 3 months, not 1 year like you used to say when we were little so you could be the boss) and we had the best time always.  We were and are like sisters and now, even if we live in different countries, we know we will always be there for each other no matter what.  It is an unconditional love.  It's family, but also friendship.  The best bond there can be.
So here is to my two little ones, Iben and Olivia.  To a life full of adventures and dreams, of games and laughs and tears (because oh yes, there will be tears!) and to my two beautiful cousins Estefanía and María, I love you and miss you every day, but thank God for Skype!

Why bother?

Småfolk chicken caserole (empty in 3 minutes) vs. Slow roasted pumpkin soup (untouched)

Now matter how delicious the food I make for Olivia is, she still prefers Småfolk prepared ones.  Yuk!  But then again.  At least they are healthy, made with canola oil, veggies and meat.  At least she eats that! (And ofcourse, banana, strawberries and oatmeal cereal).

Why bother? Because I want her to learn to eat everything.  I don't want her to be picky.  Because at least, she should try everything before saying "I don't like it".

Baby food: a big challenge.  One day she loves something, the next day she hates it.  But, anyways, I will keep on cooking for her, giving her things to try and have the stash of Småfolk prepared food in the back in case nothing else works!

Thoughts? Tips to share? All welcome!
